BREAKING: Roe V. Wade Is Set To Be Overturned By The Supreme Court

Updated: May 4, 2022

According to a leaked document, the Supreme Court may have already struck down the infamous 1973 Roe V. Wade decision that legalized abortion across the nation. The court is likely waiting to publish the clear and pointed majority opinion by Justice Samuel Alito.

According to sources provided by Politico, a draft majority opinion from Justice Samuel Alito was leaked that contains language clearly indicating that the highly controversial 1973 ruling will be overturned.

Key highlights from the leaked text show that the court is likely focusing its attention on the faulty judicial reasoning of the original decision, and on the fact that the ruling represented a raw exercise of judicial power instead of constitutional order.

Throughout the decades the Roe v. Wade ruling passed down by the nation's highest court has been touted as a clear mandate and judicial precedent when it came to the legalization of abortion, but this could all change should the reports and leaked documents prove to be accurate.

The official overturning of Roe could be revealed in its final form as early as June 2022.

This ruling would not make abortion illegal, but would instead pass the decision down to state legislatures, where the matter would be decided for each individual state. Legal experts have long argued that this was what was originally intended by the constitution.

Prior to 1973 about 1/3 of the states had legalized abortion to some extent.
