BREAKING: Trump Responds to Former Japanese Prime Minister's Assassination

- News -

The world was put in a state of shock upon learning that Former Prime Minister of Japan, Shinzo Abe, was assassinated with a homemade gun.

To understand some of the hype regarding the PM’s assassination, you have to understand the special relationship former President Trump had with former Prime Minister Abe.

During the Trump administration, Abe was seen as one o the United States closest allies. According to the Editor of the Center for Strategic and International Studies, CSIS, Prime Minister Abe was able to have a personal relationship with Trump, while at the same time, “advocating for Japanese interests on various issues such as North Korea and trade.”

Both Trump and Abe were aligned on these and “other strategic challenges in the Indo-Pacific region.” Namely the strategic challenge that communist China posed to both the U.S. and Japan.

President Trump responded to the assassination of PM Abe this morning on his new social media platform, Truth Social:

Really BAD NEWS FOR THE WORLD! Former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe is dead. He was assassinated. His killer was captured and will hopefully be dealt with swiftly and harshly. Few people know what a great man and leader Shinzo Abe was, but history will teach them and be kind. He was a unifier like no other, but above all, he was a man who loved and cherished his magnificent country, Japan. Shinzo Abe will be greatly missed. There will never be another like him! President Donald J. Trump.

The close ties between the Trump administration and Abe’s term as Japan’s Prime Minister will continue to benefit U.S. foreign relations and help contribute to World Peace. And those ties can best be understood in Mr. Trump's own words.
