China Launches High-Tech Aircraft Carrier, Outpacing the U.S. Navy

Bejing officially launched its new generation aircraft carrier on Friday, the first of its kind that was both built and designed in China, according to the AP.


This ship, hailed as a "naval milestone," is China's most recent attempt at increasing its navy's power over the seas.


According to reports, the carrier is a type 003 and is equipped with the latest weaponry and aircraft technology. Its tech is thought to rival that of Western carriers.


With Beijing already having the largest navy in the world, the real danger comes when its navy's quality can actually compare to that of Western nations.


According to the AP, the carrier was draped in decor and was preparing for its upcoming launch ceremony.
