Joe Biden adressed the nation Thursday evening to talk about stripping gun owners' rights following the Uvalde Texas shooting.
"I want to be very clear. This is not about taking away anyone’s guns," Biden stressed. "It’s not vilifying gun owners. In fact, we believe we should be treating responsible gun owners as an example of how every gun owner should behave."
However, after assuring gun owners that it was "not about taking guns," he continued to state that rights were not absolute and that he wanted to take guns--capable of adequately defending life--away from law-abiding citizens.
He continued, "At the same time, the Second Amendment, like all other rights, is not absolute."
According to Post Millenial's review of the speech, Biden called for the banning of assault weapons and high-capacity magazines by reinstating the 1994 Federal Assault Weapons Ban.

He doubled down on his intentions to tighten gun legislation when he said that if assault weapons were not banned, congress should raise the legal age to purchase such weapons from 18 to 21.
"Why in God's name, should an ordinary citizen be able to purchase an assault weapon that holds 30 round magazines, that let mass shooters fire hundreds of bullets in a matter of minutes," said Biden. "The damage was so devastating in Uvalde, parents had to do DNA swabs to identify the remains of their children, nine and 10 year old children. Enough."
