Opinion: Private Groups Go to Fight in Ukraine, Is America Doing Enough?

Throughout the United States, small groups of private militia have formed and are now flying to Ukraine to defend against the Russian invasion. These groups, according to most reports, consist of private militia, mercenaries, and even private citizens.

Secretary of State Anthony Blinken made an official statement encouraging concerned groups to help in other ways, but many veterans and pro-Ukraine activists were not dissuaded to fight.

When President Trump ordered a drone strike that killed one of the top commanders of the Iranian military, Qasem Soleimani, it was only done after American blood had been spilled. President Trump made it clear such actions would be taken if any American was assaulted by a foreign government.

Now that American journalist, Brent Renaud, has been killed in Ukraine by the Russian forces, it will be interesting to see if the United States will take a more proactive role in its handling of the Ukraine War, instead of a defensive and waiting stance.
