Sen. Howley Announces Bill That Would End Your Use of Tik Tok

- Newsbite -

Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) said that he will introduce legislation that will effectively ban Tik Tok for all users nationwide, reports Breitbart.

This comes after reports show that Tik Tok, owned by the Chinese parent company Bytedance, collects and sells information on its users to third-party trackers. "From there, it's hard to say what happens with it." says CNBC.

TikTok's collection of user data expands far beyond that of other popular social media apps. Reports have shown that it can see everything up to swipe patterns on keypads, meaning it can see what you're searching for and even what you're texting.

That's not even to mention that it collects personal contacts, emails, phone numbers, account info, what you're watching, and when you're doing all of this.
