Two Sides: Should The Texas School Shooting Mean More Restrictive Gun Legislation?

"Two Sides" is a unique resource provided by The Portland Post designed to show both sides of a given political argument. Most often, these sides will be presented by two titans of progressive and conservative thought.

More Gun Restrictions Mean a Safer America?

"As a nation, we have to ask, when in God's name are we going to stand up to the gun lobby? When in God's name, will we do what we know in our gut what needs to be done? We have to act. Don't tell me we can't have an impact on this carnage," - Joe Biden

President Joe Biden responded to the shootings in Texas with a seemingly heartfelt cry to God, which was immediately followed by calls for increased restrictions on the constitutional right to keep and bear arms.

Gun Restrictions Have Serious, Opposite, and Unintended Consequences. More Guns = A Safer America?

"There really is no legislation that can ever prevent such atrocities." - Albert Mohler

R. Albert Mohler Jr., speaking to proposed gun control legislation to prevent shootings such as the recent Texas school shooting said on Wednesday,

"We do not want an unarmed America, and to argue as much is ludicrous. The same gun that was used to take life can also be used to protect life just across the street." - Albert Mohler
