The saying "It is what it is" captures the idea that one must simply deal with the facts, no matter how inconvenient or cumbersome they may be. That is the idea that has recently been hoisted upon LGBTQIAA+ activists in professional sports. Only, the saying goes something like, "biology is biology--which happens to trump gender."
The Portland Post reported that the world's most influential international swimming association, FINA, recently announced a policy change that bars biological males identifying as females from participation in elite competitions.
The Daily Wire recently reported that, in a similar way, "World Athletics, the international governing body which supervises events such as track and field and cross country running, may follow FINA, the world’s governing body for swimming, and protect women athletes from competing against some biological men."
World Athletics president Lord Sebastian Coe, when questioned about the possible decision by the WAA, stated that "Biology trumps gender."
This is good news for women's sports. Should the discussed policies be put in place, the confusion and press surrounding biological males participating in high-level sports will almost entirely disappear as women will be taking home first place medals in women's sports again. But there is more at stake than just the immediate, obvious consequences of this type of "awakening."
An awakening to the fact that biology trumps gender is an awakening to the fact that science trumps fiction--truth trumps lies. The lie that a human being who was born either male or female can "transition" to the opposite sex--God forbid something in between--has been the single most unscientific, untruthful, demented, and damaging lie perpetrated in American history. If this ideology is not reversed, the span of its negative consequences will be inconceivably great.
When we, as conservatives, cave to the progressive LGBT+ agenda, we compromise our most important asset: truth. I'm sorry folks, but it is what it is. Truth is truth. facts are facts. Science is science. And science--namely biology--trumps fictitious genders. There are two genders, male and female, and that truth trumps the fiction of the B and T in LGBT+. It is time that conservatives, alongside women's sports, are awakened to that truth.
