Suspect Arrested: Violent Attack Outside of SoFi Stadium

A California man, Daniel Luna, is currently in a medically induced coma after a man wearing a Rams jersey shoved and punched him near the mouth, sending him to the ground outside of the SoFi stadium near Los Angeles, police said Wednesday.

According to NBC News, “The victim, who was in critical but stable condition Wednesday, was wearing a 49ers jersey when he was found, but Inglewood police Lt. Geoffrey Meeks said police have no information that indicates that was a factor.”

“The Inglewood Police Department has not uncovered any information which would have us believe that this is a targeted attack [due to the victim’s team affiliation]” Meeks said.

Luna, a 40-year-old man from Oakland, was found in a parking lot outside of the stadium sometime after 4 p.m. as the Los Angeles Rams played the San Francisco 49ers in a conference title game, according to the NBC report.

According to News Nation USA, the suspect that allegedly shoved and punched Mr. Luna, putting him in a coma, has been arrested and charged with felony assault by means to produce great bodily injury.

Police said Friday that there is footage of the incident. The video shows Daniel Luna standing in a parking lot along with other 49ers fans. Luna proceeds to shove a man wearing a Rams jersey, later identified as 33-year-old Bryan Alexis Cifuentes, from behind. Cifuentes then shoves and punches Luna in the face, sending him to the ground. This is according to a News Nation USA report.
